Junk Journal Join In January Round Up!

I have kept to my junk journaling and think I have completed 4 pages. So that is a good start to the year. Here are a couple of my favourites:

There is a growing group of people sharing their own journal pages over at the Junk Journaling 2014 Facebook group. Here are some of the pages that have been shared:

Also my blogging pal Susi has created her junk journal out of an old calendar which is a genius idea and has created an inspirational video too!

Here is a reminder of my first January page and if you haven't seen the video inspiration for January than here it is and it is never to late to join us in our junk journaling journey:

I will be back tomorrow with my first page of February! Thank you everyone who has joined me so far!

The Documented Life # Week 5

This week the theme is a doodled border and needless to say I ended up doodling all over the page. I stuck with black and hot pink for this week's Dynamic Duos colour theme challenge.

I am also going to share my page over at AJED.

Psss...

We have a challenge over at the Craft Bubble 2 forum each month which is called the Rudolph challenge and yes I am afraid to say it does have a Christmas theme. But as obscene as it seems to be thinking about Christmas when it was only a month ago, it really helps us all keep on top of our Christmas card making and so no panic in December.

Anyway, I have made a batch of 4 to get me started! I am going to enter my card in the following challenges:
Christmas Cards All Year Around: Xmas anything goes
ABChristmas: Bare essentials (minimal embellishment)
Christmas Card Challenge: Anything Goes!

Just...

playing about with some junk mail and some old stash that got left by the way side for awhile. I used some hand carved stamped on the background and also a touch of pink perfect pearls.

I am going to enter my journal page into the Fab n Funky challenge with the theme all about the words and Tando Creative challenge Bold and Bright

The Documented Life #4

They have change the day for setting the prompts to a Saturday so I have been able to keep to track over the weekend. The prompt this week is to write yourself a message and then cover it up all but 1 words. I chose to cover my message up with washi tape and then used Gelatos/ink/paint to add on top.

The Documented Life # Week 3

Just about managing to keep up with this and also was pleased as this week the prompt was to use an envelope...yeah! Junk to journal with. So here is the envelope I used, the inside was much more interesting then the outside!

Here is my page for my weekly diary, not my usual colour palette but I am happy enough with it to blog it!

OLW # Aspire

The first One Little Word for 2014 and what great word to start the year! Aspire
I made this little positive affirmation card to put in your purse, wallet or pocket using a Tim Holtz mini alpha card. The white embossed image is from a JOFY set by PaperArtsy.

Selfie...

Managed to get my week two project for The Documented Life done before a new one is posted tomorrow! More junk journaling too like this...

Used Lilac paint by PaperArtsy and also a little Squiggly Ink stamp too. Added some sparkle medium to the background too. Stitched it all with the sewing machine as well. Journaling diary added to the back.

Going to share my page over at AJED. and enter it into the Pan Pastel challenge of Frosty Finish!

Oh Duckie!

A piece I worked on over the weekend using the theme and colour scheme from Piarom's Mix It Up monthly challenge. The duck hat came from my thoughts about the theme over at Moo Mania and More of birds. The artwork was coloured using watercolour pencils.

So Excited!!

I can finally announce that I have been lucky enough to be asked to be part of the PaperArtsy design team for 2014! Over the next three days on their blog I will be sharing some projects I have been creating using stash from the shop. My projects focus on the Squiggly Ink range of stamps which lend themselves so well to those modern arty projects I love.

Hop over to the PaperArtsy blog to see my project in detail.

Fingers crossed...

I will be able to stick with it! Roben-Marie Smith and a few of her friends are running a year long project called The Documented Life.  Now I know I won't be able to keep a diary every day but I do hope to keep up with their weekly art journal prompt and then I am going to write a few thoughts on the back making my own diary page. I am going to link it with my junk journaling self-challenge and then think I might be able to stick with it that way...well only time will tell! My page was made using some thick card from a box.

I am going to share my first page over at AJED.

Still Unruly!

My first article for the Unruly PaperArts blogzine for 2014 is published today. This month all the projects are based to the image transfer technique. There is also a fresh new look to the blogzine as well. Hop over to take a look at my article/project:

One of...

the best things about 2013 for me (on the craft front) was my journaling and altered art work on a small scale. Here is another page in my mini journal using my own stamp created using the Teresa Collins Stampmaker.

The page was coloured using pencil crayons and I add a little extra touch of stamping using a PaperArtsy mini stamp from the Squiggly Ink range no 8.

Junk Journaling January Page One

Here is my first page for my junk journaling self-challenge:

I used a picture from my pet insurance magazine, plastic net from some Xmas chocolate snowballs and some oddments of card stock.

If you do some junk journaling this month please leave me a comment and I will hop over to your blog to see what you have created. There is a closed Facebook group if you want to see the video showing how I created this page, join in chat and share your projects with other junk journalers; just friend me and I will send you an invite.

Working on loose pages and found a giant book binding ring to hold my pages and it work great as hanging display at the moment while I haven't got many other pages.
