The Documented Life...

project, I am loving this. For me Sunday is a perfect day to reflect on my week and journal down a few thoughts, feelings or events. All this gets added onto the back my little journal page. Week 18's prompt is inspiration quotes. 4 months of the project done as we hit May this week.

I am going to share this over at Paper Saturdays.

Being Brave

I haven't done much crafting the last few days but I have been reading Brave Intuitive Painting by Flora Bowley. Here is what I started with, an abstract background and then I looked for images within this to complete my composition. I worked on a large sheet (20" x16") of heavy weight watercolour paper, Flora recommends working large scale and that is the biggest sheet of paper I had. To be even braver, I need to work onto a large canvas so will be going shopping next!

Birkenstock

My favourite shoes. The theme for this weeks documented life project. I used what I call my 'drained of colour' technique. A black and white photo with the colours in the background which in this case matches the colours of my comfy birkies. Here is my finished journal page threaded onto my book binding ring.

I am going to share my page over at AJED, Paper Saturdays and Pile It ON 'No DPs'.
Hope everyone is having a good Easter weekend.

Sometimes it...

is hard to. The theme for the current SODAlicious art journal challenge No49. I have been toying with the idea of a fabric art journal and here is the first double page spread. I used all my usual supplies but added some hand stitching, beading and worked on calico.

I am going to enter my pages into the ABC challenge of 'as you like' and That Craft Place 'Anything Goes'.

One Little Word # April

My art work this month was not only inspired by this month's OLW challenge with the theme 'adventure' but also by the current Mix it Up Monthly challenge with prompts of 'maps' and a colour scheme.

This unseen women is striding off on an unknown adventure. I worked on the back of a watercolour postcard, used a map from a vintage book about Somerset in the UK, a range of Fresco paints and stamps by PaperArtsy, a handful of coloured pencils plus a few touches of Coral and Apricot Promarkers.

Triptych on...

a card. I used neon pink paint and yellow ink/sparkly firework spritz on the background. Then stamped using black and embossed with clear glitter powder.

I designed this card with Moo Mania and More in mind.

She ended up...

a steampunk girl. Been working on a canvas the last couple of days and here she is finished off. Wasn't planning steampunk theme but that is what she became! I used a mix of Fresco Paints and watercolour pencils. Some journal stamps by PaperArtsy and some Prima embellishments. The feather stamps was a Craft Stamper freebie.

Another...

mini journal page. If only I was brave enough, I would so love the ombre hair look, though mine would have to be pink and not purple!

Week 15...

of The Documented Life project. This week the theme of 'monochromatic'. I had thought of colouring my design one colour but in the end decided to leave it black and white.

I am going to enter my journal page into the Allsorts challenge of 'no flowers'.

A Mini...

journal page. I used a Pinterest photo I found as my inspiration a girl with red hair and green scarf combo.

I am going to share my page over at Paper Saturdays.

The Documented Life...

Here is how my documented life project is shaping up 3 months in. I have been very good and used only scraps or junk for the base pages.

Week 15 theme is to write your name and decorate, I used some scrap decorative paper for mine.

Here are my March pages and the first April theme will be up tomorrow...wonder what it will be?

Sniff...

I go all sentimental over at PaperArtsy tonight as I share my final project for my Semester 1 stint on the team.

Splashing on the Little Black Dress Fresco Paint onto Eclectica chipboard Shapes.

And spreading GrungePaste through a Stencilgirl stencil.

Junk Journal Join In # April

Back this morning with my junk journal page for April. I went all brown card for this page. No video or photo story this month, just a few step by step photos.

Brown cardboard packaging spritzed with Glimmer Mist.

Stamping with acrylic paint.

Paint and stamped through die cut waste.

Wasn't sure I liked my paint through die cut waste but think I rescued it with some doodling.

Stamped using Walnut Stain DI to create subtle pattern.

Cut strips of card from the paper plate packaging and inked it with Walnut Stain.

My finished page with some doodling.

Thanks to everyone who joined me last month. Don't forget it is never to late to join in so why not head over to our Facebook page to see the member's fabulous pages.
