Dear Dad

All Tied up!

I made this little birthday book by tying up some tiny A7 cards I designed and made. They were gessoed, inked, spritzed with water and then stamped. I also added some fine black netting fabric to layer up my focal image on the front cover.

I am entering this project into the following challenges:
Crafty Calendar: Blooms and Blossoms
Cute Card Thursday: Tie it up
Pile it on: Add fabric or felt

Surround

Here is the stash I became surrounded by the end of this project!

Lots of layers of acrylic paint and some texture using masking/washi tape and some book papers. Must not forget the modelling paste either!

Stamping with Brown Staz on ink and some new little mini stamps...99p what a bargain!

My finished page using a Dina Wakely stamp which I stamped onto tissue paper and then applied to the page. Not sure whether I like my white acrylic paint circles, now...
you see we are surrounded by self doubt!

Designed for the following challenges:
One Little Word: Surround
One Stop Crafting: Anything Goes!
The Artistic Stamper: Words

Prim and Proper...

seems to suit this lady! I challenged myself for this project not to use stamps, ink or black and so I can enter it into the current Art Journal Journey theme. I am also going to share it over at this weeks Paint Party Friday.

Kraft Trinchie Book

Been busy with this project over the last couple of days. Made a Trinchie (3" x 3") book using Kraft cardstock. Layered up tissue tape, stamped with acrylic paint and then spritzed with Peach Delight Glimmer Mist first:

Then came a few layers of stamping with a mixed of Timber Brown and Rusty Orange Staz on ink, I also did some Versamark stamping and embossed with some copper embossing powder.

I added more shiny and texture using some gilding flakes and sepia accents. Then came more stamping of insects and a bit of light colouring using pencil crayons. My quote was printed and I then triple embossed it with clear powder is created an almost wood veneer look. My book was all finished off with different lengths of cord/threads and I even used a couple of heart charms which came with ordered from Art from the Heart.

I have designed this trinchie book with the following challenges in mind:
Our Creative Corner: Anything Goes
ALBC: Kraft it!
Stamping Sensation: Embossing and Texture
The ABC Challenge: Make it Sparkle

Fairy Sparkle..

With the fine weather in the UK today my modelling paste dried out quickly which makes a change! I stamped with some newly acquired coloured Staz on inks and then blended a layer of Faber Castell Gelatos over the top. I decided to lightly colour tint the vintage image with pencil crayon and added some glitter to the wings to finish off my ATC.

I have designed this ATC with the following challenges in mind:
Anything but a Card: ATC's
Pan Pastels: Fairy Land
Allsorts: Add some sparkle

Gelli Plate Christmas Card

I decided to get out my Gelli plate to create my background for this card. I used 3 different acrylic paints and stencils. All very neutral colours with some gold thrown in so it would work well on Kraft card not traditional at all I know but I like Christmas cards like that! My sentiment stamp is by Clarity Stamps and was a special stamp produced for their stamp club, I also used another Clarity stamp on the background I made. It is always the way I have tonnes of brads but not the colour I needed to painted them with acrylic paint too!

I have designed this card for the following challenges:
Clarity Stamp Challenge: It is all in the sentiment
52 CC Throwdown: Sketch
A Little Bit Crafty: Kraft If
A Colourful Journey: Gelli Plate Party

There is a hole in my...

art journal page after using a sketch set by crafty pal Kathy k. I used this in conjunction with a really tough quote this month over at Artists in Blogland. Started with the hole which I had every intention of filling in but in the end it seem to feel right to leave in the hole and I chose a destroying themed quote which I could relate too. It is all created using acrylic paints and a bit of modelling paste to start off.

I am going to share my work at:
