I take NO

credit for the zentangle on this weeks The Documented Life project. As the theme was to get someone else to draw on your page and then finished it off. Well, as I couldn't persuade the dog to oblige me, I was feeling a bit stumped and then thought? My craft pal Louise had sent me some zentangle she had done I could use those! So there wasn't much I needed to add but went with all the red colouring.

Take a leap...

of faith. Yesterday decided to paint one of my girls straight onto a canvas after making my background. Not a bad first attempt, but room for progress for sure!

A Potpourri...

box. It started as a plain papier-mâché blank that was a Hobbycraft bargain 75p in the sale after Christmas. Thought it was about time I altered something in my ever growing pile of things to alter !
A perfect Mothers Day gift and I filled it with home grown lavender which I dried last year. All the paints and stamps used are by PaperArtsy. If you haven't tried the Fresco paints, the chalk finish makes them great for layering and they dry super quick too!

I am going to enter my project into the following challenges:
Crafting for all Seasons: No Designer Papers
That Craft Place: Mum and/or Flowers

Week 12...

of the documented life project. This week the theme is cut up a magazine. So here is my journal page I decided to stamp and collage up my magazine pages. I even used a magazine page to journal this week's diary page.

My Favourite Things

Here is an ATC I made for a swap over the Unruly PaperArts Facebook group. We had the theme 'my favourite things'. What to choose? I chose to make my own stamp using one of my sketches from the 29Faces challenge and then some nice bright colours (intense blocks), there had to be more stamping (in black of course), some stitching (my latest favourite) and a quote!

Stamp made using Teressa Collins Stampmaker.

I am entering my project into the ABC challenge 'hair' .

Our words are CALM and DREAM, we have lots of  prizes to win this month for participating so I do hope you will join in. Any craft form is welcome as long as the word 'dream or calm' are added somewhere.

Cheer up!

With the sun shining over the weekend it made me feel better and so here is an equally as cheerful page for week 11 of The Documented Life project. The theme is to add a bird, I chose to stamp and collage mine onto my page. The background was created using a stencil, gesso, big brush pit pens and Gelatos. I also used a couple of PaperArtsy stamps. The bird is by Dylusions.

I am going to enter my journal page into the Artistic Stamper challenge with the theme 'letters, words and numbers'

A Sense of Irony!

Ok, so here is the story. Piarom launched the new Mix it Up monthly challenge of 'Abstract' plus a colour scheme and as I missed last month's was determined to try it. All seemed to be going well, I was pleased with my Dylusions Ink background all in blues and then tried to add the next colour orange using some acrylic paint. What did I end up with sludgy colours...yuck!! But tried not to be defeated and added some Gelato, doodles and stamps. Did I like it any better now? Hell NO!!

disaster revealed!!

I was just about to give up for the day and put it down to experience plus a dodgy mojo when I glanced at the old photocopy sheets I had underneath my work, which has splashes of ink, scrapped acrylic paint, blotted stamps and scribbles of pen where I had hastily cleared my blocked black ink pen. I wonder if?

do I stop there?

ok so couldn't stop myself added some more stamping! Well when you have some newly launched PaperArtsy stamps you just HAVE to use them.

Now that is truly abstract...RESULT! Well, I liked it lots better than attempt 1. There is only one downside to this, my work in on a flimsy piece of photocopy paper...I had another idea...wonder how that will turn out? TO BE CONTINUED!

I am going to enter my page into the current Artful Times challenge with its Anything Goes theme and the Our Creative Corner challenge of Lets get scrappy!
