A Sense of Irony!

Ok, so here is the story. Piarom launched the new Mix it Up monthly challenge of 'Abstract' plus a colour scheme and as I missed last month's was determined to try it. All seemed to be going well, I was pleased with my Dylusions Ink background all in blues and then tried to add the next colour orange using some acrylic paint. What did I end up with sludgy colours...yuck!! But tried not to be defeated and added some Gelato, doodles and stamps. Did I like it any better now? Hell NO!!

disaster revealed!!

I was just about to give up for the day and put it down to experience plus a dodgy mojo when I glanced at the old photocopy sheets I had underneath my work, which has splashes of ink, scrapped acrylic paint, blotted stamps and scribbles of pen where I had hastily cleared my blocked black ink pen. I wonder if?

do I stop there?

ok so couldn't stop myself added some more stamping! Well when you have some newly launched PaperArtsy stamps you just HAVE to use them.

Now that is truly abstract...RESULT! Well, I liked it lots better than attempt 1. There is only one downside to this, my work in on a flimsy piece of photocopy paper...I had another idea...wonder how that will turn out? TO BE CONTINUED!

I am going to enter my page into the current Artful Times challenge with its Anything Goes theme and the Our Creative Corner challenge of Lets get scrappy!

  7. A wonderful abstract piece Clare and i just love the colors. I think its always magical when you stumble across wonderful results by accident. I actually use my sop up pieces especially from my Dylusions Spray ink Plays often for backgrounds, they are always interesting. Hope you are having a great weekend!

  10. WOW! the final piece is really good. I love those colours together. I don't think you would have got something so good by trying- it was destined to come by accident. It would be good if all 'art accidents' turned out to produce such master pieces!
