Me Time Message 5

Keep Calm was the phrase for this week. I can't help but chuckle as there is a slight sense of irony to this as I had a bit of a disaster and ended up deleting some stuff off my camera. So I am going to have to cobble something together in this post rather than share a video this week.

As always the project starts with journaling your word/phrase for the week and sealing it into the envelope. I chose a window envelope this week.

Then came a layer of gesso. Once dry I stamped some images using a coloured archival ink.

After that through a stencil I added some gloss gel medium to create gloss pattern that would become a resist, so heat embossing would work just the same way.

Then came a spritz of Dylusions ink and I wiped over the dots a bit to reveal the resist pattern. The stamped yellow archival almost creates a resist in itself...a happy accident!

Then came some stamping using archival black and also a swipe of the ink pad around the edges and over the envelope itself.

To finish off I did some doodling added my phrase inside the window of the envelope and created a frame.

I will be back with the last Me Time Message tutorial on Thursday next week.

  2. Super! Well done for keeping calm. I think I would have panicked finding that I had deleted the frames from my camera. The photos are perfect guidance.
Your design with the butterflies and blues/greens is very calming. Sorry for 'setting down' the window envelope challenge last week ;-) Fab use of the window.
