Anyone want another lesson or shall I bow out gracefully with a thank you for your support in my little venture?

Lesson Five with a Prize!

Today (5.7.13) I launch the next lesson in my From Card making to Art Journaling series. We are on lesson 5. This month I have changed the format a bit and also want to offer a random prize for those that make a page inspired by my lesson. I thought it might encourage some of you to take the plunge into art journaling and also it gives me a chance to see your work too!

I would love to see your pages that are inspired in some way by my lesson. The random prize is:

A Kaisercraft clear stamp 'Grid'...this stamp is one of my favourite ones and is invaluable for journaling pages. Add a link to your page inspired by lesson 5 by August 5th 6.00pm. This post is sticky so will remain at the top until August 5th.

Lesson 3...

From Cardmaking to Art Journaling is launched today. I use lots of different patterned papers and stamps to create a scene. I have added a linky this month so you can share you work that was inspired by the lesson.

Coming Soon...

Lesson 3 of From Cardmaking to Art Journaling. In this lesson we will be using more patterned papers, matt medium (or wet glue), gesso and glitter (or for those already into altered art Sparkle Mod Podge). Oh and also some bubble wrap would be good, what an excuse to buy some new stash...it often comes wrapped in that...LOL! The lesson will be launched on Friday 8th February. Here is a little teaser:

Plus a linking thing so you can all share and post your work here if you aren't a member of the Craft Bubble forum. I will launch that too with the next lesson. Here is a test of the link so you can share your work from lesson 1 and 2 (plus I will know whether it works or not before lesson 3):

From Cardmaking to Art Journaling Lesson 2

I am so pleased with the feedback I received about the first lesson in my course 'From Cardmaking to Art Journaling' and there was some fantastic work produced by everyone who joined in! I have had 99 plays on Vimeo so think that is a good start. I would also like to welcome my new followers as well and of course thanks to all my blog followers who left some lovely comments. So here we are lesson 2 and there is only one material that traditional cardmakers may not have 'Gesso' but hope you will be encouraged to get hold of some and try out the technique shown in the video.

From CardMaking to Art Journaling Lesson 1

Well my Craft Bubble pals were keen to get started. So I have focused on using materials that traditional cardmakers will have and will also feel comfortable with. As I said yesterday I don't profess to being an expert and this is my first video tutorial! There are a few laughs along the way and I talk through my thought process while creating. I hope that it will give cardmakers the essence of what art journaling is about! Here goes!!

Cardmaking to Art Journaling Free Course

Some crafty pals over at the CraftBubble forum are interested in giving art journaling a go. So I said I would put together some prompts and tutorials together for them this year. I thought I would try and spread the word a bit as I am sure there are other cardmakers interested in trying out art journaling. I don't profess to being an expert but in 2012 I took my own journey from cardmaking to art journaling so decided to share my ideas. My thought is that I will try to use the cardmaking stash you have so that you can dip your toe into art journaling and see if you like it! Then as the year progress we might just HAVE to buy new stash! Please add this button to your blog sidebar, post and spread the word. Don't forget to become a follower too! Who knows where our journey together might take us?

Why not join up at the CraftBubble forum? This way you will be able to share you work, chat about projects and join some likeminded crafters. Here is the post link on the forum.
